Hellboy 2 reeks of Guillermo Del Toro’s dark vivid earthy visions, he manages to transform the dark streets of Manhattan into an enchanted underworld. Visually, it’s better than free candy but the scripting lacked the zingy pop of it’s predecessor.
There were plenty of opportunities for tinkle in your pants moment, yet these moments always turned out to be wry smirk provoking rather than generating a hearty belly laugh.
Some new character’s were introduced but they failed to make a lasting impression.
There was a fantastic development – - – During the film Liz (The fire girl, Hellboy’s squeeze) discovers she is pregnant which means that Hellboy 3 should be awesome and despite it’s minor shortcoming’s Hellboy 2 is a better warm up than 50 star jumps and a shot of Calvados.
The new hulk movie was a bit of a surprise, slightly apprehensive after the Hulks previous outing on the big screen. The film begins in the favela’s of Brazil and was solid well paced and engaging, I got a little carried away (Noooo…Leave him alone…) and the central theme is Bruce Banner’s attempts to control the deep green.
Liv Tyler’s performance made me want to sick a little bit in my mouth, she overdid the whole doe in a headlight super saccharine devoted lady thing but Norton sealed the deal.
My friend R.AMM alerted me to the new Watchmen trailer, which prompted me to actually get round to reading the comics … roll on 2009. How I managed to live 24.5 years of my life as a comic buff and never read it I don’t know, the Watchmen is deliciously dark…and deserves it’s own post.

Can’t wait to see Hellboy 2. I think it’s going to be great!
Hulk was alright but I think it could have done a bit better, nice review anyway!
