Soweto Kinch is an award winning Jazz musician and in anticipation of his new album B19: Part 2 Basement fables he is parading his new wares at Birmingham Town Hall on July 25th. (Tonight!)
Soweto has the makings of a Jazz legend and despite having been giving recognition from the higher echelon of Jazz, Soweto is an intelligent, composed, pragmatic and dedicated performer.
He is also a passionate advocate for local music and works tirelessly to promote music in Birmingham and charitable organisations for kid’s in deprived areas.
He is giving away free ticket’s to his performance tonight to people under 21 who live locally.
This isn’t a cheap pr gimmick. Soweto is actually just a lovely guy.
At short notice I asked him to do a charity performance for a night, he did a little ditty with Mad Flow ( A beat boxer) Soweto didn’t grumble once and was approachable friendly and fabulous.
It’s always more refreshing than a freshly chilled Strawberry Ribena to meet somebody who is talented and doesn’t spoil it by being an arrogant pigdog.
