Beth Orton was the first act that I caught on the Saturday and she was fantastic, the quality of her voice was outstanding, the best over the course of the festival.
She combines a sense of optimism with fragility which cannot be faked, she is a bonafide muso, who takes care and attention to her performance whilst still managing to deliver earthy, powerful and fun songs.
She was the first female act that on the line up that lived up to the hype.
